The CBI today filed a petition in the AP high court challenging the grating of bail to Mr Rajagopal, former mining department director and accused number 3 in the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka minister Mr Gali Janardhan reddy.
The special CBI court at Nampally in Hyderabad granted conditional bail to Rajagopal on Thursday and asked him to submit two sureties of Rs.50, 000 each. The court also directed him to surrender his passport and not to try to influence the witnesses and tamper with evidences.
However, even before Rajagopal family members submitted the sureties, the CBI filed an immediate counter in the same court and sought cancellation of bail to him. With this, the CBI suspended the bail orders till Dec 19.
Following this, the CBI counsel filed the petition in the high court seeking cancellation of Rajagopal’s bail.
