Anti corruption crusader Anna Hazare, 74, today began a 3-day fast at the MMRDA ground in Mumbai though he has been under medication for the past three days for viral infection.
Feeling worried about his health condition, Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi appealed to him to give up the fast and participate in a formal demonstration but Anna turned down the request.
“He has cough and cold but he will be alright from tomorrow,” said Anna’s physician. Anna’s personal assistant Suresh Pathare also said there was no problem for the activist and he could continue with the fast.
Anna and his team earlier rushed to the grounds around 12.30 pm from the guest house where he had stayed overnight after arrival in Mumbai.
