Govt tried to avoid Vijay Sai arrest: Yerram Naidu

TDP senior leader Mr Yerram Naidu today alleged the state government had tried to protect Mr Vijay Sai Reddy, accused number 2 in the illegal assets case involving YSR congress chief Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy by trying to avoid his arrest.

Addressing a media conference at TDP office in Hyderabad, he said Vijay Sai reddy made attempts to avoid arrest in the case by trying to become a director of the RBI and sought the cooperation of the state government. “Well, the government too cooperated with him,” he said.

Substantiating his charge, Yerram Naidu said the government sought to know from the CBI whether Vijay Sai Reddy facing the CBI investigation could be appointed as the RBI director. “Where was the need for the government to seek such a clarification about a person who was facing CBI investigation under several sections of the IPC and Anti Corruption Act?” asked Yerram Naidu.

He further said this single instance on part of the government was proof enough to say that Jagan had entered into an agreement with the congress high command to save himself out of the legal web he was in for his economic offences.

He said the congress and the YSR Congress are not at all different. “While the congress is a poisonous tree, the YSR Congress is only branch of it,” Yerram Naidu said. (JUBS)
