Balayya to contest as MLA strengthening TDP

TDP Chief Chandra Babu’s brother in-law and popular Telugu Cine hero  Nandamuri Balakrishna has announced that he would contest the next assembly elections in the State and also will actively participate in politics strengthening TDP. This decision brings lot of hope and boosts morale of TDP cadre.

Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Balakrishna said that he would join the electoral politics in the next assembly elections.

However, he did not specify the region. district or the constituency from where he plans to contest. He said he is ready to contest from any region of the state whether it is from Andhra, Rayalaseema or Telngana.

The final decision from where to contest would be decided by the party leadership and he is keen to strengthen the party in the state, Balakrishna adds.

Balakrishna also said that he do not possess any individual opinion on separate Telangana and he would abide by the party's stand on the issue.

Balakrishna also said that he will continue acting in films and not do the same mistakes of what Chiranjeevi did.

The actor reached Vijayawada on Saturday and will proceed to Ghantasala in Krishna district on Sunday where he will unveil a statue of his father and party founder-president NTR. Balakrishna visited the residence of senior party leader Chalasani Venkateswara Rao alias Pandu, who was murdered in Hyderabad last year due to real estate disputes and interacted with the leader’s family members.

He had showed his inclination to enter politics back in 2009, but was advised by Chandrababu Naidu to refrain by entering active politics then and involve in election campaigning.

Earlier Balayya, howwever stated that he did not hope to become CM one day and follow the footsteps of his father NT Rama Rao. "I am not interested in the CM"s chair, I am keen to play a key role in party affairs." He was still undecided on which constituency he will contest from. His father and brother had both contested from Hindupur in Anantapur districts.

It is going to be Balayya- Babu (B&B) time in next elections!!!
