YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy today called off his 48 hour fast at Armur in Nizamabad district by accepting a lemon juice from some farmers.
Jagan, who began his fast Tuesday evening demanding solution to farmers’ problems, arrived in Armur with his convoy of vehicles from Hyderabad without any resistance from TRS cadres and began his limited version of fast immediately.
Though the fast was supposed to have run for 48 hours, Jagan wound up his camp four or five hours earlier to the scheduled time of calling off.
Santosh Reddy vows to make Jagan CM
Former minister and YSR congress leader Mr Santosh Reddy, who recently quit the Congress and joined hands with Jagan, said he would strive to make Jagan the chief minister if his health keeps him active.
Addressing people who gathered at the fasting camp of Jagan this evening, he said his blessings are with Jagan.
“Jagan got good response for his hunger strike supporting the cause of farmers in the state,” he said, adding that Jagan has got a clear view on the Telangana issue. Santosh reddy said the present congress government had thrown away to the winds the welfare programmes implemented by the late YSR regime. (JUBS)
