4 killed in two road accidents in AP

4 persons were killed and 35 others injured in two different road accidents in AP today.

4 agricultural labourers were killed and 10 of their colleagues injured when a tractor carrying them plunged into a gorge at Burugula village in Papili Mandalam of Kurnool district this morning.

The accident occurred when the Burugula villagers were on their way for work in a nearby village. Reports said the driver of the tractor lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve. The injured were admitted to a hospital in Done.

In another accident, 25 passengers were slightly injured when a Volvo bus of the RTC turned turtle at Nagarjuna Sagar early this morning. Police said the sleepy driver of the bus, coming from Nellore to Hyderabad, suddenly applied brakes at a curve resulting in the accident.

The injured were admitted to a private hospital at Nagarjuna Sagar. The police are on the look out for the driver who is at large. (JUBS)
