The CBI officials took the tainted senior IAS officer Mr BP Acharya to the CGHS hospital at Begumpet in Hyderabad today for medical examinations after he complained of uneasiness. He was allowed to have medical examination on the orders of the CBI special court

A team of doctors at the central government hospital, headed by Dr Rambabu, conducted chest-related medical tests on the officer and told the CBI officials he should be continuously given glucose as he was running out of required levels of energy.

The CBI sleuths then took him to their make shift office at Dilkusha guest house for questioning for his role in the Emaar-APIIC land scam. Mr Acharya was the second IAS officer in the state to be arrested in the scam.

Y. Srilakshmi, a senior IAS officer, was earlier arrested in the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan reddy. (JUBS)
