The people of Mottigondi village in Ardhaveedu Mandalam of Prakasam district today found a 6-day old female baby abandoned in the nearby fields.
Some of the villagers, who were working in the fields, found the baby and brought it safely into the village. The villagers and police later took the baby to the Government hospital at Kambham for first aid.
“We will investigate to find out the details of the inhuman mother who left the baby in the fields and take suitable action against her,” a police official said, adding, the baby was fine at the moment. (J)
