The Congress candidate for Tirupati by-poll, Venkataramana has urged the people in Tirupati not to caste their votes to the corrupted candidates in order to protest the sanctity of Tirupati town, which is the destination to crores of people who wish to seek blessings of the deity in Tirumala.

Venkataramana has also said that the Congress party has to be in power in order to maintain the development. Further, he pointed at TDP and YSR Congress party candidates and said they were corrupted politicians and the development would go for a toll in case any one of them taste victory in by-poll.

Elucidating the public on the developmental programmes initiated by Congress, Venkataramana has said that it was their party, which had recognized the importance of women and implemented several schemes for women welfare.

As a part of electoral vow, Venkataramana said he would provide better facilities for travelers in Tirupati, which would in turn give employment to scores of people in the town. Later, he visited several tourist guest houses and enquired the problems of the people who halted there.     (Phani)
