YSR Congress party candidate Konda Surekha, who lost to TRS party candidate Bikshapati, has said that Telangana sentiment didn't workout in Parakala constituency. Had Telangana sentiment worked, she said she would have won there.  Konda Surekha said she respects the Telangana sentiment. She even said she was not disappointed over the defeat.Finding fault with Congress leaders, Konda Surekha said one of the main reasons behind her defeat was the cross voting that was done by Congress candidates.

In case the state doesn't comes to reality, people would take the responsibility of bringing down Bikshapti. She has also stressed that she has the support of the public and would continue to move in the public.

It may be noted that Konda Surekha got 50,374 votes and lost by 1562 votes. Bikshapati got 51,936 votes.
