FEMA Act doesn't apply to Jagan: Jagan's counsels

The prime accused in illegal assets case and Kadapa MP, Jaganmohan Reddy has said that he was not a chairman nor a director of Jagati Publications. He apparently made these statements in the wake of Enforcement Directorate's (ED's) petition stating that they be allowed to question Jagan in connection with the inflow of money into Jagati Publications, which violated the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

It is known that Jagati Publications run Sakshi newspaper.  The counsels of Jaganmohan Reddy filed a petition with the CBI Court stating that Jaganmohan Reddy was in the prison under judicial custody and he had no knowledge about the affairs at the company. They have alsos aid that FEMA and money laundering acts don't apply to Jagan as he was not the director or chairman of Jagati Publications. CBI deferred the next hearing to July 6.
