With CBI grilling the prime accused in disproportionate assets case (otherwise called as illegal assets case), YSR Congress party leaders are apparently all set to splash mud at the joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation, Lakshminarayana. After allegedly leaking the call list of the joint director, YSRC leaders are presumably digging the assets of Lakshminarayana. The sources said that some cadres of YSRC are enquiring the assets of CBI joint director that he has in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. It may be noted that Lakshminarayana is the IPS official of Maharashtra cadre.
The sources have also said that this alleged operation by YSRC reportedly started simultaneously with the campaign to unearth call data list of JD. While the former one, the leaders successfully accomplished, there is no clear information to the sources as to how much information related to assets has been gathered so far. Also, several enquiries were underway about Lakshminarayana's service in Maharashtra. The joint director, who is AP on a deputation, worked as an SP in some of the districts in Maharashtra besides playing a key role in Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
Astonishing facts came to light regarding the entire episode, said sources. All people close to CBI JD Lakshminarayana were being tracked, sources added. Notably, Lakshminarayana is in South Africa on an official work. He left for S. Africa on 4 July and was scheduled to arrive at Hyderabad on July 16. He is most likely to focus on the irregularities in cement factories once he resumes his duties.
The sources said that there's even life threat to JD Lakshminarayana. What exactly YSRC leaders want to prove or do to CBI JD is a million dollar questions.
JD Laksminarayana is an IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre. He is a famous cop who reportedly gained name and fame for dealing many cases without fear or favour. He is currently holding the rank of Inspector General (IG) and has Y category security as he is dealing cases, which involves high-profile persons. In Andhra Pradesh, Lakshminarayana became a popular figure after he took up illegal assets case. He has also dealt with Satyam scam in the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
Lakshminarayana was born and brought up in Srisailam of Kurnool district. He completed Bachelor of Engineering at Regional Engineering College-REC (which is now NIT) Warangal. He also has M. Tech degree from IIT Madras. He cleared the prestigeous Civil Services Examination (CSE) and became an IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre. He also has a jurisdiction on Karnataka.
In April, 2012, Andhra Pradesh Government provided Y category security to Lakshminarayana since he is heading the probes involving high profile persons. Undeer Y category, the CBI joint director will be having two armed guards 24/7 besides traveling on a bullet prof vehicle. Also, police security has been provided at his office and home. The intelligence reportedly told AP Government that there's life threat to Lakshminarayana.
