The students federations of the Rayalaseema region announced at Peeleru of dire consequences if the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) if they voiced on separatist moves. The joint Convener for Rayalaseema students joint action committee (RJAC), Kishore Kumar said that the association will protest in front of the houses of the TDP leaders, if they supported separatist movements. The TDP which took a 'cat on the wall' stance on the state separation, was recently rumoured to be proposing a state bifurcation on the demands of the Telangana forces.
In reply to such rumours the RJAC issued the ultimatum on Saturday. After the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu announced his inclination towards a separate state, the RJAC launched a massive march in the streets of the town and staged a rasta roko at the local bus terminus. They also burned the banner of the Chief at the meeting that followed.
Speaking on the occasion Kishore Kumar reminded the TDP leader that many TDP leaders had partcipated in the samaykya Andhra protest when the Telangana leaders organised Sakala Janula Samme, last year. He wanted the leaders to convince Mr Babu to get back the written consent for separate statehood. They also accused Mr Babu of giving consent to the issue for selfish political aspirations.
