T-JAC slams Congress for arrests in 'power protest'

Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders who were arrested yesterday where protesting over public issues and detaining them was not correct, felt the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC). TJAC today asked the concerned to immediately release the leaders arrested, yesterday. TJAC submitted a memorandum in this regards to the Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. The leaders felt that it was high handedness to arrest the leaders who were protesting on behalf of the people. They also wanted a clear stands from the government over the power crisis in the state. The HM inturn said that she would discuss the issue with the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

The protest headed by the Siddipet MLA Harish Rao started of peacefully. Protestors condemned the Government for the power outage that was ruining the agriculture segments. As time passed more and more protestors gathered at the venue. The MLA along with his supporters were stealthily planning to enter the Vidyan Soudha Complex, when the security people intervened.  Police arrested the leaders and many protestors.
