This is your very own special news roundup from the state for the day. The whole of yesterday we were dreaming about the Megastar on his birthday. TVs were airing his movies, papers talking about him and radios singing his old songs. Back again today, we are moving on.

Celebrity Corner: Prema Desam fame Vineeth, a Bharatanatyam exponent celebrates his birthday today. Wishesh wishes him a very happy birthday. Wishesh also takes this opportunity to wish all our readers who are celebrating their birthdays today, 'A very Happy Birthday.'

Days Specialty: Today is  United Nations’ (UN) International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition. Remember the nightmarish tales of the transatlantic slave trade prevailing earlier. It gives all of us a chance to think about the historic causes, the methods and the consequences of slave trade.

History Speaks:: Andhra Pradesh first Chief Minister Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu was born on this day way back in 1872. He had the rare distinction of being the Chief Minister of two states. He was the CM for the erstwhile Madras Presidency from April 30, 1946 to March 23, 1947. Then he was also the first CM of AP from October 1, 1953 to November 15, 1954. Earlier on the same day Telugu speaking Andhra State was formed.

Festival time: Id (EID) festival just over, the country is counting on the next set of festivals that are due, some time soon. The first is Onam, celebrated on the 29th  August. Though it is a regional festival, as our Malayalee friends are there all across the nation, it becomes almost a national one. Then we have the Ganesh Chathurthi on September 19. Paper Ganesha is going viral and it is good for the environment too.  So celebrate Ganesh Chathurthi with paper Ganesha.

From the epics: Bhagavad-Gita: Yesterday we had discussed about Chapter Five known as 'Karma Vairagya Yoga'. This chapter of the total eighteen, in particular dealt with, 'Action and Renunciation.' Just remembering, Aldous Huxley for his quote, “the Bhagavad-Gita is the most comprehensive statement of perennial philosophy.'

Today Chapter Six known as 'Abhyasa Yoga'. This chapter deals with, 'The Science of Self-Realization.'  Lord Krishna tells his disciple Arjuna, amidst Kurukshetra (war) that one has to understand about self. The Lord also gives in detail how one has to master over his mind to understand the spiritual identity of the so called 'self'.

Entertainment: Again Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, our desi bond 007, is trending on top and this time the industry pundits claim that the film will scale the Rs 200 Cr peak even with Shirin farhad ki nikal padi (SFKNP) round the corner. SFKNP is a lighter vein romantic comedy from  Bela Bhansali Sehgal with  Farah Khan and Boman Irani.

Sports: VVS Laxman will be missed in the first test against New Zealand at the Uppal stadium in Hyderabad. Team India take on the Kiwis in the two test series.

Tirupati: Devotees rush normal. Sources say that nearly 14 compartments were filled with devotees to have a glimpse of the Lord. Ordinary darshan shall take just 6 hours for the devotees in queue.

NO Banks on Today: Bank employees across the country are in protest on Wednesday and Thursday. India Inc's, 27 nationalized banks, 12 private banks and  8 Global banks, with over 10 lakh employees shall remain closed today also.

Power Outages: Power Crisis takes center stage across the state. Chief Minister holds a media meeting over the issue. As per the crisis, the cities are bearing the brunt of three hour power outage, the Corporations have 5 hours and towns have 6 hours power cuts. The worst are the villages which do not have power for nearly 12 hours from 6 am – 6pm.

Rumour mills, people's night out in fear: Rumors spread like wild fire across the state that people who lay down would die. Unfortunately many believed the falsified baseless rumors and a had a pathetic night out. Reasons of these rumors and sources of origin are yest unknown.

Hyderabad: Hike in auto fare now the minimum would be Rs 16 and foer every km the fare would increase by Rs 9, with effect from today.

Sriharikota: India proposes to launch its prestigious PSLV C21 on September 09.  This is the hundredth time that the Indian Space Research Organization would be trending the space boundaries. Earlier ISRO sent 62 satellites and 37 launch vehicles, since the launch of the Aryabhatta in 1975. ISRO plans to launch 720-kg SPOT-6 remote sensing satellite from France (built by ASTRIUM SAS) and a 15-kg Japanese spacecraft Protiers on this mission.
