Statewide bandh is proposed by the YSR Congress Party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy the son of the late Chief Minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy. The party plans the protest for the erratic power outage in the state. Senior leaders of the party said that they planned a phased protest at the district level on 28, 29 and 30 of this month and a statewide agitation on August 31. the party's leader Jupudi Prabhakar said that the government was neglecting the power outages issue which is affecting the public in various ways.
About the sub planning agenda for the SC/ST welfare tabulated by the group of Ministers committee of the Congress, the leader said that the government was not sincere in its approach. He added that the whole exercise was just an eye wash by the Congress.
As per the power crisis, the cities are bearing the brunt of three hour power outage, the Corporations have 5 hours and towns have 6 hours power cuts. The worst are the villages which do not have power for nearly 12 hours from 6 am – 6pm. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
