There could acute fuel shortage predicted in the Telangana areas of Andhra Pradesh. The reasons are due to the tankers strike that was in progress in Godavarikahni region of the Indian Oil Corporation. The drivers and cleaners of the oil tanker of this depot agitated for hike in wages. They expressed that the wage hike was immediately solicited as they felt that the wages were not at par with the other sectors. The drivers attached to the Ramagundam area in Karimnagar storage depot agitated today on the pay-hike issue.
As per reports the depot covers areas across Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Warangal districts. The strike might make fuel scarce across these districts. None of the tankers scheduled for the day had left the depot and hence there could be acute scarcity in these places. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
