Karnataka former chief minister Yedyurappa has sought the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy at Mantralayam in Kurnool district on Wednesday. Mr Yedyurappa travelled on train from Bengaluru to Tungabhadra station from where he reached Mantralayam town by road. Yedyurappa was welcomed by the temple pontiffs with Poornakumbham. He then entered the sanctum sanctorum, had a glimpse of Brindavanam and offered special prayers.
Yedyurappa-after he came out of temple-spoke to the media. He has said that it was due to the blessings of Raghavendra Swamy that he rose from the position of a normal activist to this level. It may be noted that Yedyurappa was all set to form a new political party in Karnataka. In the wake of the same, he offered prayers at this temple. Notably, his political party would be set up on December 9 wherein 56 MLAs from BJP in Karnataka are going to join that party.
