Shivsena chief Bal Thackeray died this afternoon due to multiple organ failure. The moment this news was in air, scores of Shivsena activists thronged his residence Matoshree while party heads appealed to the activists to maintain peace and restrain. Bal Thackeray was a popular figure in Indian politics especially in Maharashtra. He had been apparently loved and respected by crores of Maharashtrians. All of them apparently were saddened when they got to know about the same.

Even many VIPs  are fans of Bal Thackeray. Notable persons among them were Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar and others. All of them are likely to flock to Matoshree to have a final glimpse of the leader. Hundreds of police forces including para-military battalions have been beefed up in and around Mumbai to ensure that no untoward incident takes place. In fact, entire Bollywood was stunned to know Bal Thackeray's death and expressed their condolences in the form of tweets. Dia Mirza, Shirish Kunder, Vivek Oberoi,Randeep Hooda, Siddharth, Aftab Shivdasani, Ajay Devgan and Riteish Deshmukh are a few who tweeted on the demise of Bal Thackeray

Earlier, this week Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Ram Dev visited Matoshree to see ailing leader Bal Thackeray. Bal Thackeray is survived by his sons Uddhav and Jaidev.
