Case against Owaisi at Parliamentary Street PS

MIM Akbaruddin Owaisi has landed in trouble for his alleged inflammatory speeches that were reportedly aimed at disturbing law and order besides promoting enmity on the grounds of religion. Based on a complaint by a social activist, Shabnam Hazmi, the police at the parliamentary street in the national capital region, Delhi booked Akbaruddin Owaisi under IPC Section 153 A.

Under IPC Section 153 A, whosoever proves guilty of promoting enmity-either by words spoken or written or by signs or by visible representations-on grounds of religion,race, place of birth, language, caste or community would be imprisoned with three years to which fine may be added to.

 

In her complaint, Ms Shabnam Hazmi said that the speech of Akbaruddin Owaisi looked like an attack on democracy and constitutional values of the country. It may be noted that Mr Owaisi who was on a tour gave provocative speeches in Nirmal of Adilabad, which reportedly created uproar across the country.
