Hyderabad regains its lost charm on Sankranti eve

Kanuma is being celebrated across the state grandly. This festival is something similar to Mattu Pongal in Tamil Nadu.  On this day,  people make it a point to eat non-vegetarian. In mythology, it's believed that on Kanuma, Lord Krishna lifted Govardhana giri (Govardhan parvatham) to save yadhavs from heavy downpour. Also, cattle will be worshipped on this day with marigold flowers.  On the other hand, kids are rejoicing themselves by flying kites and stuff like that.   In fact, at the famous Necklace Road of Hyderabad, n number of colourful kites were covering sky. It was a feast to eyes, reported Samrat.

People going to offices on this day told our team that they had an awesome time driving on roads as they were completely traffic free. It would usually take at least an hour-and-half from Uppal to Panjagutta X roads on normal days but it took just 30 minutes today, thanks to people who went to their native places on the eve of Sankranti. Hyderabad, undoubtedly, regains its lost charm and peace once in a year in the second week of January.
