Can versatile actor Mohan Babu make the difference. The actor was from the beginning a staunch advocate for the unified state. With his straight forward comments he attracted the ire of the activists repeatedly. However this time the actor could make a little difference believe some Seemandhra leaders. May be he could influence the union home minister Susheel Kumar Shinde in altering the decision on Telangana.

How did the gossip get around. There are certain firm reasons for the issue to gain prominence. One was owing to his forthright voicing of views. Another main reason being that Shinde and Mohan Babu share a very cordial relationship since some time. They were frequently enjoying each others company while the former was a Governor to the state.

There is also a divided talk over his influence, while Seemandhra leaders pin their hope on him, the other side feels that his threat to influence the decision is zero. On the whole, critics feel that it would be the Congress high command's voice that would be heard through the home minister and not his own.
