The bandh call given by TRS in Medak district today-to mark a protest against the remarks made by chief minister Kiran Kumar over Bayarram mining row-is evoking good response. RTC buses were locked up in the depots by the officials after TRS activists allegedly broke the windshields of two buses in the early hours today. Not just in Medak town, but the activists sat in front of bus depots across the district, to ensure that no bus shuttles between stations.
The police, however, lifted the agitators and shifted them to nearby police stations. But then commercial establishments remained closed apparently without any pressure besides road side vendors too rolling down the shutters. It seems like Medak leader Jagga Reddy's appeal to the people, not to support the bandh call, has gone with the wind!
