As the elections are approaching and as the leaders' changing parties are underway, the political parties are crystalising their strategies.
BJP State President Kishan Reddy announced today that Telangana should not be the main point in the election manifesto. A fight will be on to get a separate Telangana State before elections.
Kishan Reddy says that public meetings of protest for Telangana will be held in 119 Constituencies of Telangana region and a Telangana Fight meet will be held at Hyderabad on 3rd June.
He expressed his confidence that no one can dare talk against BJP in the coming elections. If they do, it will boomerang from the public voting against them. He stated again that his party will contest the elections on its own without any other party’s support.
As it seems BJP has decided to give a tough fight to TRS which is surviving with the single agenda of separate Telangana.
BJP’s cautiously worded statement that Telangana is not an issue for the elections is a good strategy. Whether it is achieved or not it will be an added point for them. In case Telangana becomes a reality, BJP can boast that it happened because of their effort which will be a strong point in their election campaign. If not, it will prolong the fight and form part of the election campaign. That way BJP’s long fight may muster in the elections.
