P.C.Chacko the Official Spokesman of Congrress party yesterday said tothe media that formation of a separate Telangana State is not in the National Agenda.  It is the affair of the State.  He said that there are so many issues pertaining to the State but no Telanga issue is on the Agenda on National level in UPA Government.  Even on the questioning again again by the media persons that the Government has already promised to look in to the matter, he firmly said that when there no such item in the agenda, where is the point of looking in to the matter.  

Chacko’s statement triggered protests in the State.  Osmania University Students JAC went to Gandhi Bhawan in Hyderabad to forcibly enter into it but for the protection and arrests of the police.  Telangana Congress leaders hurried had a meeting.  They went to the extent of announcing that they will think of changing the party.

Then Chacko made a correcting statement telling that his comments were taken wrong by the media.  He said that the Telangana issue is the main item in UPA Agenda.  He promised that a decision will be taken on Telangana after the discussions are completed on it.  He also said that the Congress party is aware of the Telangana sentiment prevailing in the Telangana region.
