Chief Minsiter Kiran Kumar Reddy announced today that local body elections will be conducted during third or fourth week of June and Municipal and Corporation elections will be conducted during third or fourth week of August. He said that conducting these elections were delayed because the issue was pending in the courts. He said that the legal fight in the courts was done only to protect BCs’ prominence.
Kiran Kumar called the party men to strengthen the Congress Party in the wake of the above elections at 2.58 lakhs of centers. He said that the unity in the party is the need of the day to strengthen the party although differences of opinion are common in a party of that size. Those differences if any, he said, should not be made a public issue. He also asked the candidates who will be given the party tickets should show their gratitude to the party.
Kiran Kumar also stated that the welfare schemes introduced are only party’s decisions which should not be taken as individual deeds suggesting that the schemes introduced by YSR also were of the party and the ownership should not be claimed by the persons related to YSR.
