High Court of AP accepted a petition filed to disqualify the MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi.
Accordingly Akbaruddin, Election Commissioner and State ElectionOfficer are issued notices by the High Court.
The court adjourned its hearing for four weeks.
Akbaruddin Owaisi delivered a hate speech at Nirmal on December 8, criticizing Hindu Gods and beliefs hurting the sentiments of Hindus.
The Supreme Court said previously that unless state governments mustered courage to proceed against politicians making hate speeches, the health of the country’s secular fabric would get damaged irreparably.
