There was an altercation that led to scuffling between Congress and TDP MPs and leaders at Dehradun. The incident was a small one if you look at it broadly and the reason to engage in a brawl is a silly and childish. The fight took place in the presence of the TDP President Chandra Babu Naidu.
Chandra Babu commented later that a competition to serve is ok but this sort of competition is not healthy.
State Government and TDP arranged two separate planes at Dehradun to bring the flood victims back from there. It was decided prior to the arrival of the planes who will board which flight. But due to the anxiety of the flood victims to reach home soon, every one of them ran to the first plane that landed and it made the leaders mad to fight among themselves.
The situation could have been handled very easily without becoming a laughing stock after so much of the service done and amount spent. But the angers are not momentary as they seem outwardly.
It was a competition between the ruling party and opposition party of the State. A service in need is a help in deed irrespective of the fruits they expect or gain without expecting them. But the political gain a party is getting and the effort other party is disparaging was boiling among the leaders for the last three days and it was only eruption to come out to the surface at a small excuse at that time. Those inner feelings made them brawl at that time.
Although Chandra Babu said it softly, Lokesh talked about it sharply that shows a characteristic of youth. He said that it is ok even if they call it political. If you call the relief work as political, let it be called political alright. But the opposition party rose to the occasion when the ruling party failed to help the people of the State. Lokesh said it after the plane carrying the passengers reached Hyderabad.
How can you find fault with a student studying that he is studying only to get marks in the exams? Study has to be done for acquiring knowledge alright but marks are also gained in the process. Even if TDP gets credit and gains politically it is only a gain in the process but actual motto is service to the people of the State in difficulty. That is what Lokesh wants to convey as it appears and it is right, as the political analysts say.
Chandra Babu Naidu is leaving for Badrinath from Dehradun along with MPs and a team of Doctors for the help of 350 pilgrims stranded there.
