A team is going to reach Kedarnath today to clean the temple surroundings covered with dead bodies and waste material came with floods.  The team of 10 is being sent by the management committee of the Badrinath and Kedarnath temples.  

The Chairman of the Temple Committee and Srinagar MLA Godial said that the traditional performance of pooja will be made only after the physical cleaning in and around the temple and purification (Samprokshan) after 15 days under the guidencce of the Shankaracharya and Raval- Chief of the priests of Kedarnath Temple Bhim Shankar Ling Shivacharya will be taken up which makes the shrine ready for the performance of daily pooja in the traditional and regular way.  

Only the locals who could save their lives from the unexpected calamity are lighting and keeping incense sticks in the temple.

Surprisingly there is no damage to the main Sivalingam or to the temple which is believed to have been constructed by Pandavas and reconstructed by Adi Shankaracharya.
