Kavuri Sambasiva Rao said at Eluru that he finds more pleasure in the company of the people than as a Minister.  

Kavuri who went to his constituency Eluru for the first time after assuming the charge of the Union Ministry for textiles was received and felicitated by the leaders, party workers and representatives from different associations.  He said in the public meeting held at Eluru that he always worked as a party worker but never considered himself as a leader.  He said that he never wanted a high position in the party.  

State Ministers Pitani Satyanaryana, Vatti Vasant Kumar and Kanna Lakshminarayana congratulated Kavuri for the opportunity of heading the Union Ministry.  

He was received at Hanuman Junction by the party workers and from there till he reached Eluru he was welcomed by the leaders and party cadre on the way with flowers and conducted a rally.  Kavuri paid homage at Ambedkar statue at Eluru old bus stand after covering many places in the town rallying.  Then he went to the Indore Stadium where a public meeting was conducted.  

Kavuri said in the meeting that he is not interested in the power but interested only in serving people recently said that he is a Union Minister and his scope is Nationwide unlike a Corporator.   He looked at the Telangana issue from that perspective.  

In the Eluru public meeting he assured that the problem of Kolleru will be taken up soon.  He said that he will try to get 40000 acres of land distributed to the Kolleru residents which was lauded by TDP leader and Kaikaluru MLA who said that he will support Kavuri if he takes up the long pending Kolleru issue.
