The special plane carrying The Vice President of AICC Rahul Gandhi and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had to land on emergency at Lucknow on Thursday evening.  The UP State Home Minister R.P.N.Sinha also was with them in the plane.  

The flight took off at Amethi, UP for Delhi had to be diverted due to bad weather as a result of which it had to land at Lucknow.

Rahul Gandhi went to Amethi to attend a function organized by CRPF.   He was joined by his sister Priyanka there to have a meeting with the Congress party leaders to brief them up and give some tips to strengthen the party to combat in the General Elections in 2014.  The preparations were to ensure a win at Amethi constituency for Sonia Gandhi who is going to contest in the coming elections.
