Babu, are you for or against Telangana?

Chandrababu Naidu has once more taken an about turn in the interests of.....ahem.....who? Everyone is wondering who the TDP chief supports at this point. After consenting to the formation of Telangana, he is now open about his support for the Samaikhyandhra movement.

Buzz is that Babu has given up on his political prospects in Telangana, once it becomes a reality. As Congress and TRS have an unfailing support in the region, he is backtracking his earlier strategy to support bifurcation.

Now, the leader wants to throw his weight behind the Samaikhyandhra movement to get back into the good books of the Seemandhra people. During his Atma Gourava Yatra, he made statements that sent Telangana TD leaders into a tizzy. Chandrababu says he was responsible for halting state division during the NDA regime.

Needless to say, Telangana supporters find it hard to digest. Currently, Telugu Desam has 31 MLAs in the Telangana region. A merger of Congress and TRS is expected to win the party close to 95 seats. Individually too, the parties would grab the majority.

It is being said that, Chandrababu have realized the futility of an alliance with TRS, whereas a few months back, he wanted to ally himself with the Telangana leaders by supporting state bifurcation. As the situation looks bleak on the Telangana front, he has reverted to supporting United Andhra.

Naidu's behavior is not new to the AP political circles, who have seen him oppose Telangana when he was CM and support it when he is not. While consenting for Telangana, he is suporting United Andhra. First he criticized the High Command for the delay in their announcement and now he is again criticizing the Center for not addressing Seemandhra concerns, while demanding monetary compensation for a new capital.

Babu seems to have no option but to restore his name in Seemandhra for the sake of the Party. This puts him in a situation where his new name is U-turn specialist.
