Loksatta party leader Jayaprakash Narayana comments on the case of YS Jagan comparing it with Nirbhaya- a gang rape incident at Delhi that made entire nation lower its head in shame. Some time ago Telugu Desam Party President Chandrababu Naidu also commented the same way.
JP qualifies Jagan's case as a special and unique one in the annals of Indian history. He said that many cases are pending in the courts on Jaya Lalitha, Madhu Koda, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Lallu Prasad Yadav for years and no sign of bringing it to the final stages is visible. He said that special courts should be appointed to try the cases on the important and people in high places.
JP says that a person accused of crimes in other countries takes it as an insult and shameful thing but in our country they hold their heads high with a hand on their mustaches.
He demanded that the investigating agencies should be given free hand making them autonomous freeing from the clutches of selfish politicians. He said that the cases of the culprits in high places should be tried fast and they should be sentenced for not less than 20 years jail in addition to the confiscation of their assets.
