Withdrawal of Ordinance- Will It be a Jolt To Jagan?

Finally the process is on for the withdrawal of the Ordinance passed by the Government allowing convicted leaders to hold positions overriding Supreme Court's order.  The Ordinance is pending with the President of India for final approval.

The Union Government has decided to withdraw the ordinance in question.  The Attorney General GE Vahanvati is being consulted for legal opinion on the issue.  Cabinet meet will be held at 6.00 pm today to process it further.

It was already informed to the allies of the UPA about the decision to withdraw the Ordinance.  Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar says that he supports the decision of the congress party as there is nothing wrong in withdrawing the ordinance.  Former Ally DMK says that it is ok to disqualify the convicts but the Bill should go to Parliament for discussion and make it known to the people of India about the happenings.

The political parties and persons interested in politics are debating whether it affects YS Jagan who was jailed for 16 months on the charge of money laundering.

The Supreme Court's order disqualifying the jailed leaders from contesting in the elections and convicted representatives of the people from holding the positions do not for the time being affects Jagan as he is not in the jail and he is not yet convicted although case is totally investigated and submitted to the Court by CBI.  But, experts say, he is on the verge.  Anything may throw him in to the fold of legal disqualification from contesting the elections.
