The Chief Minsiter Kiran Kumar Reddy called media representatives to the Secretariat to tell them that one lakh people were evacuated and provided shelter in the wake of Phailin cyclone that is making havoc in three districts- Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram.  

Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the people residing in the cyclone hit areas to leave houses and follow the rescue teams’ instructions.  He said that the Government wants safety of the people first.  He assured that the authorities are alert to do whatever is needed.  

Kiran Kumar said that the district special officers are monitoring the situation in addition to whom Navy, Army and NDRF are ready to extend their help to the cyclone victims.
