Due heavy rains in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema rivers and rivulets have swollen to the heights never witnessed in the past and that too with a sudden outburst made havoc in the regions.

Many RTC buses were trapped in the waters.  Crop of paddy, cotton, Soyabean, corn and maize ready to reap was drowned in the flood waters.  It is the second attack by the nature on Kalingapatnam with a gap of hardly a week.  The rain fall recorded 32 cm.  National Disaster Response Team was pressed in to service to take up relief operations in the coastal Andhra.

As the reports received 12 people died in the wrecker rain.  At many places locals helped each other before authorities reached there.  RTC buses were trapped in the sudden rise of water current of which cut the roads at many places.

Passengers at Narasaraopet in Guntur District were saved when the bus they were travelling was caught in the water that came from the irrigation canal.  Reports of crumbled old houses also received from many places in the State.

The weather reports say that still a 24 hours rain fall is expected for which the people of the State have to get prepared.  The scenes in Seemandhra looked as if the region has suddenly sunk in water.

This is not a boat. This is the top of the RTC bus totally drowned and the passengers are standing on top of it to save themselves from drowning in the flood waters.
