The Chief Minsiter of Delhi Sheila Dikshit filed a defamation case against BJP leader Vijender Gupta but she did not attend the court today when the hearing took place. The Court fined Rs.5000/- for her absence that wasted court's time.

But her lawyer gave an explanation to the Court that she had to attend an important meeting regarding the finalization of the candidates for the State elections of Delhi.  Then the court exempted her from attending the court and asked to pay the penalty on the next date of hearing.

In the meanwhile another case was filed on her for her allegedly using public funds for the election campaigns in 2008.  She is accused of misusing heavy public funds by misusing her power.
