41 bodies were taken out from the Volvo Bus of Jabbar travels on the high way at Kothakota. The SP Nagendra Kumar said that the names of 29 passengers could be traced so far. The District Collector Girija Shankar said that the relatives of the passengers are being contacted.
It is known from the preliminary investigation that the fire caught because of bursting of the diesel tank of the bus.
Taking the bodies out posed problems as some of the bodies were trapped on the floor of the bus. 49 passengers were travelling in the bus as per driver Firoj which means another body has to be found. The bodies will be handed over to the relatives after DNA test for which forensic experts reached the spot of accident.
The Volvo bus was registered at Ananthapur. Enquiry is going on for further details about the bus and persons related to it. The Government ordered for the total investigation on the incident.
