Because of the leadership of CPI(M), Maoist activity may spurt in the State of Telangana if the region gets Statehood. It is revealed by the DGP B.Prasada Rao. Naxalites who are not active in the State excepting in the Coastal districts may start their activity in the Telangana State as feared by the DGP.
He said, “There are some apprehensions that the Maoist cadre and leaders who mostly belonged to North Telangana districts could return to the region if the region got Statehood.”
In the informal meeting of Prasada Rao with the media persons on Wednesday, he said that the Naxal activity may erupt again in the Telangana region. It was a major problem some years back. The Task Force delegation came to Hyderabad recently also had a discussion about the issue of Naxals in the Telangana State.
B.Prasada Rao and IPS of 1979 batch who was the Director General for Anti Corruption was made Head of the Police Department on retirement of V.Dinesh Reddy on 1st October.
