Comedy Actor Warned To Take Court Serious

Rajpal Yadav comedy actor in Hindi cinema failed to attend court on many occasions in the case filed by a Delhi based businessman M.G.Agarwal who loaned him Rs.5.00 crore in the year 2010 to make a Hindi film "Ata Pata Laapata".  But the actor failed to return the money after many commitments.

A case was filed on Rajpal Yadav and his wife who jointly borrowed the money. As the commitments of the couple were never honored on many occasions, the court asked their lawyer to ask them to remain present in the court in the next hearing.

Rajpal Yadav attended the court on Monday but his wife Radha did not. The court asked to produce the bank transactions of the actor for the last three years and also the actor’s film assignments.

The Delhi High Court trying the case said their lawyer representing the actor and his wife that it is the court they are dealing with and they may not be aware of the severity of the consequences. The High Court Justice S.Murlidhar said that if a non-bailable warrant is issued, they will be brought to the court.

Rajpal Yadav today was sent to Judicial Custody for 10 days for concealing the facts. The lawyers representing the couple are also charged with the contempt of court.
