Visalandhra Mahasabha Condemns Telangana Bill

The Visalandhra Mahasabha President Chakravarthi talking to the media persons today at Visakhapatnam said that the Center is going ahead with the State Reorganization Bill in a dictatorial way.

He questioned the decision conveyed by Digvijay Singh that there will not be any voting on the bill but only the opinion on the 11 points mentioned in it should be taken in the Assembly.  He said that it is a funny way of doing it for which there is no precedent in the history of India to divide a state without consent of the Assembly.  He says that it is against the Democratic rules and setting a bad precedent for future.

He said that the Speaker should initiate voting on the Telangana bill in the Assembly and the Seemandhra leaders should defeat it.  Chakravarthi warned that the people’s representatives who do not do it can be assured that they will not have a political career in future.
