AIADMK general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha turned 66 today and on the eve of her birthday, she announced list of party candidates who will be contesting for Lok Sabha. In an alliance with the Left Parties CPI and CPM, Jaya has alloted two seats each for them and the remaining will have AIADMK partymen. About 40 candidates list was made official and ironically only 4 women were able to find slot in this list of 40.
Celebrations witnessed across the Chennai City and hundreds of poster appeared hailing Jayalalitha as the future Prime Minister of India. In the AIADMK headquarters also, the leaders arranged a 66 kgs cake for Jayalalitha which is designed in the shape of Indian Parliament.
To Counter Center's plea in SC
Meanwhile Jayalalitha said her government would file a counter in the Supreme Court against the Central government in the release of Rajiv Gandhi assassins. But Jayalalitha refused comment on this case and said it is in the court so no comments.
