Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the Central government is working on providing special right to the North East people. “You should not only be having these rights in places you belong to but in the whole of India,” said Mr. Gandhi while interacting with tribal leaders in Diphu.
Mr. Gandhi further added that “Right To Information [RTI] Act was brought by our government and it is the most powerful weapon to eradicate the corruption in the nation. Now people talk about fight against corruption in 60 months.”
Despite a complete shut down in Assam state given by nine organizations, including the Karbi Students' Association, in support of their long-standing demand for a separate state on the view of Telangana, Rahul went ahead with his party meeting and tried his level best to woo the people.
