President Approves Telangana Bill

The AP State Reorganization Bill 2014 which was passed by Lok Sabha on 18th February and in Rajya Sabha on 20th February has finally passed through the final stage that is approval of the President Pranab Mukherjee.

President put his seal on the Bill that made the bill an Act.  Now only thing left is the announcement of its appointed day it has to be published in the Gazette to authenticate the starting day of the formation of the state.

On the other hand the bifurcation process is going on the state under the leadership of P K Mohanty whose services are extended for three months to complete the job of the bifurcation process of the employees, officers, assets and liabilities. The Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the process will take at least 90 days.

Now the fate of elections in AP as one state or in two divided states depends on the announcement of appointed day as the Election Commission is going to announce election schedule soon as the State Assembly tenure ends by June 2.
