Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] veteran leader Jaswant Singh on Monday filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate for Barmer in Rajasthan. Jaswant who represent Darjeeling currently wanted to contest from his motherland Barmer however BJP denied ticket to him. Instead BJP preferred ex-Congressman Sonaram Chaudhary for the Barmer constituency.
Jaswant also clarified that he won't be leaving the BJP at any cost. “I was born and brought in BJP, also one of the founder. How can I join other parties." Jaswant's son Manvendra Singh who is currently part of Rajasthan government extended his full support to his dad.
BJP leadership asked leaders to adjust who weren't alloted tickets, nonetheless they maintained silence over Jaswant's displeasure. Will BJP accepts Jaswant's independent nominee and sort out the issue is something we have to see.
