The Jharkhand police have lodged an FIR against BJP leader Giriraj Singh who made controversial remarks saying “those who want to stop Modi are looking to Pakistan for support. In the coming days, there won’t be place for such people in India, in Jharkhand because their place will be in Pakistan,” addressing a public meeting at Godda [Jharkhand] on Friday.
BJP was quite and distanced itself from those statements while Giriraj defended them. The Sub-Divisional Officer has directed the police to file an FIR after going thoroughly of video footage.
Giriraj is Lok Sabha candidate from Nawada constituency. The Election Commission is also likely to take a decision on Giriraj contesting the elections or not. It would be a huge set back for BJP in Jharkhand if he is expelled from contesting the polls.
