Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has ordered for a CBI probe into the gang-rape and murder of two Dalit girls in Badaun. Following the huge outrage from all over, the probe was initiated by the government to avoid the unnecessary.

Even though arrests were made, the Badaun villagers are not satisfied by the appropriate action taken and are not accusing the Law and order authorities of being unconcerned and said they have not faith in local police who are acting in favor of the accused.

Several leaders have met the family members of deceased and have demanded for stringent action against the culprits. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi arrived in Badauan and meet the family members of victims. Shamina Shafiq of the National Commission for Women also meet them and called the incident as “gruesome.”
