Governor for 15 years special status for AP

Governor ESL Narasimhan in his first speech in the newly formed Andhra Pradesh State Assembly expressed his opinion that the special status accorded to Andhra Pradesh should be for 15 years but not for 5 years.   He opined that the state of Andhra Pradesh was divided unscientifically that etched a scar on the hearts of Telugus.

It is very astonishing to hear from the mouth of Governor Narasimhan who was appointed during UPA Government that the state of AP lost many opportunities during the last 10 years.  The State and Center also were under the rule of Congress Government during the period Governor mentioned.

Governor tried to please the people of Andhra Pradesh by telling that the State of Andhra Pradesh will be turned into Swarnandhra Pradesh.  He expressed his anguish for the long term losses meted by AP after bifurcation and no measures were taken by the previous Government to bridge the losses.  He admitted that the state has acute shortage of funds.

The Governor promised that he will try his level best to undo the mistakes of the past Government.  Other points Governor touched were more like a political speech with the implementations of welfare schemes, reservations to Kapus, development in Information and Technologies, women welfare and mention of NT Rama Rao to take inspiration from etc.
