The NDA government has served notice to 16 former UPA ministers for over staying in the official bungalow. Urban Ministry which comes under Venkaiah Naidu said today in Parliament that 16 former ministers are staying unauthorised in government bungalows for over a month now and hence were served eviction notices.
Jaipal Reddy, Lalchand Kataria, Kapil Sibal, Ajit Singh, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Beni Prasad Verma, Pallam Raju, Dr Girija Vyas, Krishna Tirath, Sri Kant Jena, Sachin Pilot, Jitendra Singh, Pradip Jain Aditya, Porika Balram Naik, Killi Kriparani and Manikrao Gavit are the ministers to whom the eviction notice has been served. Apart from this Venkaiah also said another 21 ministers are staying in pool bungalow and they have been given 15 days time to vacate. These former ministers include AK Anthony, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Veerappa Moily, Vyalar Ravi, Oscar Fernandes, Jairam Ramesh, Jyothiraditya Scindia, KV Thomas, K Ranhman Khan, KH Muniyappa, Shasi Tharoor, Chiranjeevi, Mullappally Ramachandran, Rajiv Shukla, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, AH Khan Choudhury, Ninon Erring, Dr EM Sudershan Nachiappan, KC Venugopal and J D Seelam.
With unathorise stay, the ministers owe the government nearly Rs 21 lakhs and a total of 683 flats have unauthorised occupants. The government is finding difficult to allot bungalows for new ministers and so it has served notice to the former ones. We have to see how many ministers will move out of official bungalow.
