President Pranab asks MPs to behave

President of India Pranab Mukherjee has asked all the MPs to behave properly in Parliament as the entire nation is watching. Pranab took part in the Outstanding Parliamentarians Awards in Delhi last evening and appealed to the MPs to maintain dignity in both the Houses. Yesterday Telugu Desam Party office in ground floor was encroached by Trinamool Congress party MPs. Literally MPs of both the parties were about man handle each other.

Room number 5 in the first floor of Parliament was alloted to Trinamool Congress party on August 6th but TDP did not vacate the office as they have occupied for many years. So Trinamool MPs stormed into the TDP office and removed the name plates of MPs Sujana Choudary and Thota Narasimham. MPs of both the parties created ruckus which hit the national media headlines. President Pranab reacted on this issue in his own style, “Please, for God's sake, except you nobody can do it. It is our responsibility, we the elected members of both houses including nominated members, to uphold the prestige, dignity and honour of this great, great institution.”

TDP and Trinamool have complained to Parliament Affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and got an assurance that the matter will be sorted in two days.

Parliament has witnessed strange incidents this year. Former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal used pepper spray in Lok Sabha while introducing Telangana Bill in February. This incident has caught the attention of the entire world. Quite a few MPs suffered unconscious of pepper spray.
